Can I install RAM in dimm 2/4 instead of 1/2? | Tech ... If you look at the picture in the manual it shows slot 1 and 3 populated (gray shaded) in figure 1 and all 4 populated in figure 2. That is for dual channel mode. As I stated, you can try the ram in other slots and it will probably work.
